PRESIDENTS MESSAGE

Warm greetings,

It is my honor and privilege, on behalf of the officers and members, to welcome you to the official platform of the Leesburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. We are delighted that you have taken the time to connect with us and learn more about our work and impact.

Since our chartering on July 9, 1977, our chapter has remained dedicated to uplifting and strengthening the communities of Lake and Sumter Counties. For decades, we have stood firmly on a foundation of service, sisterhood, and scholarship—principles that continue to guide our mission today. Our legacy is rooted in purposeful action, and we remain committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

As we look ahead with excitement and gratitude, we are especially proud to be approaching a significant milestone—50 years of service in our community. This golden anniversary represents not only a celebration of our rich history but also a reflection of the lives touched, the partnerships built, and the enduring commitment of our members. Throughout this commemorative period, we will honor our past, celebrate our present, and boldly envision our future as we continue our work of impact and empowerment.

Guided by the vision of our 22 Founders, we strive to be a transformative force through innovative programming, strategic partnerships, and advocacy efforts that address both longstanding and emerging community needs. Our work is driven by passion and sustained by a collective commitment to excellence.

Through Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust, we actively engage in initiatives that promote:

• Educational Development 
• Economic Development 
• International Awareness and Involvement 
• Physical and Mental Health 
• Political   Awareness and Involvement 

These focus areas serve as the framework through which we educate, empower, and elevate our community.

We believe that true impact is achieved through collaboration and consistent service. As we move forward, we remain focused on expanding our reach, strengthening our programs, and building lasting partnerships that align with our mission. While we are proud of our accomplishments, we are even more inspired by the work that lies ahead.
